a really cute place to stay would be motel austin. it is a really nice authentic austin kind of place. each room is a different decorated theme. last year we stayed in the monet garden room and it was perfect. the people running it are super nice and it is located in a great spot. it is near south congress shopping and not too far from downtown and sixth street. a lot of shopping is in the area as well. http://www.austinmotel.com/ also, try to go to the oasis for dinner on lake travis. http://www.oasis-austin.com/ the sunset is amazing! a really fun place i like to go to for dessert or after being out on sixth street is halcyon coffee shop. they serve smores for two. you get a platter with the ingredients and a cup they light for the fire. its very cozy! the coffeeshop is along 3rd or 4th street at guadalupe. oh! and if you enjoy xmas lights, go to zilker park downtown along town lake. their xmas light display will be going. http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/tol/tree.htm other than that there are a lot of things to do in austin. when you get there, get some tourism guides and ask the people at your hotel and where you eat for more ideas. staying downtown is the easiest without getting lost in other parts of the city. but be warned, the parking downtown can be a pain and non-existent if you dont want to pay a fee. most, if not all, places downtown do not have free parking for some weird reason. so be prepared to maybe walk a bit to the hotel or pay for the parking. sixth street is fun, so hit that up if you in that scene. i love pete's piano bar, just great fun! one last note, that weekend is break weekend betweeen the semester ending and exams, the students might be out partying a lot. enjoy and have fun! congrats!!

I'm assuming you don't want to spend a lot of money or you're on a budget.

I have the perfect solution. Sign up with a Honeymoon Registry.
Its like a gift registry but instead your guests can buy portions of your honeymoon for you. This way you get to choose the honeymoon you want and wont have to compromise due to a tight budget.

This is totally free for you to use.

You can choose from locations worldwide and you get to choose what you want it to include. Whether its a dinner, horseback riding, larger suite etc. Its all up to you because you get to customize it.

The website even provides you a way to mail a card or email the guests to notify them of your announcement and registry.

Its a great idea for budget conscious couples.

Just visit the website below and click on Honeymoon Registry and choose your dream honeymoon. Its that simple.

I am a travel agent and this is my own booking search engine.

Please let me know if I can do anything else.

Congratulations on your wedding :)

You got to check out 6th street downtown. It not just one place it's the whole street. Lots of live music and different kinds. Everything from country, the blues, hard rock or just anything you can think of.
Also a place called Threadgills. Great affordable food.

Austin is anything but romantic. Have you thought of maybe renting a hotel in a small town nearby such as Wimberley or maybe a stay in a cabin by Canyon Lake? I will post links to the info for both places.

I hope this helps, and congratulations. I hope you two will be very happy >^-^<
