I have DSL with a wired modem and Netgear hub. I have an HP desktop with Win XP Professional; a Sony Vaio laptop with Win XP Home and a Gateway laptop with Win98SE. The laptops have wired Netgear cardbus notebook adapters. My two printers are HP and currently connected to the desktop. All three are connected to the Netgear hub. My printers are already shared. I have run the networking wizard and the desktop says my 'permissions' are incorrect and it cannot see my network. What am I doing wrong? I'm seriously networking impaired. Help! (This is my second question since I didn't explain fully in my first question. Thanks for any help)

It would be best to have a Router. With a router, you can use a feature called DHCP. This is inside the router that ASSIGNS IP addresses to the computers and other devices on the network. This is a much better way to be connected to your DSL service to share your internet to the group. Your laptop can even go Wireless if you get a wireless router. I recommend that you get a LinkSys.

Are you running firewalls on the computers? If you have the windows firewall on (control panel-security center-windows firewall) turn it off and see if you have better luck.
