Although there are more people in the world who believe that ghosts exist
in some form, the vast majority of scientists and people who work with
science do not.
Most cultures believe that ghosts are some sort of hold-over from someone
who has died. However, since there has been virtually no scientifically
credible evidence that humans do anything other than die and decompose,
I don't think you're going to get many positive replies from that community.
Even if most scientists believe in some sort of God, they do not attempt
to connect physical events with their spiritual lives - and consequently
do not feel that bodies must do something other than decompose.
Different cultures are going to present different scenarios and explanations.
I doubt you're going to get much consensus - other than that people who
believe in repeatable experiments do not, generally, believe in ghosts.

I'd love to believe in ghosts but I've never heard of a story where more than one person has seen one at the same time so it makes me think they're more of a mental manifestation of the individual than anything real.

Ghosts are spirits of dead people. Genuine ghosts are harmless. It is likely that they are trying to draw attention to themselves in order that prayers will be said for them, so that they can proceed to Heaven. However, demons are quite capable of impersonating dead people and can fool people into thinking they are ghosts. This is not a normal occurance, it is something which usually only happens to people who are dabbling in the occult or seeking contact with the deceased. The information and phenomena obtained by spiritualists and mediums is likely to be from this source of evil spirits and should be avoided at all costs.

Ghosts are the wonders of human imagination. For e.g., if you have your Mathematics paper tomorrow; and you haven't studied anything and are certain of failure; your imagination works it way through as this:
1) You imagine the teacher to be a monster, trying to get you expelled for your below-par performance.
2) You imaging your hordes of friends and well-wishers surrounding you like goblins and constantly reprimanding you for the wrongdoing.
3) You imagine that you shall be ostracised from the society.
In short, it is your mind that works as an excellent projector of energy. If you display positive energy, your mind will be propelled to do the same. If you are full of negativity, your mind will start to take matters in its own hand by constructing 'ghosts' !!

Has anyone ever experienced when u re-record over a video tape over and over eventually you can make out fuzzy images of a previous tape, think about that in life. A room has seen so many different situations and different people maybe older images are showing through. Just a thought lol :P

Ghosts are not real, and if they were they would not fall within the purview of science. Science by definition is the study of the natural universe, not the supernatural.

They are often figments of the imagination, but the other ones are spirits, (that is demonic spirits), that imitate people that have died, so that we will believe falsely that they are not demons, and still get away with carrying out their deeds!

I would say...if there any smart at all why wouldn't they keep up the trend of not being seen...if proven then what? give them a reality show?
