In a democracy (or as close as we can get) taxation is just because taxes are set by a representative government, and the taxpayer ideally should have his or her needs met.
When individuals (instead of the voting public as a whole) decide who or what their money is spent on, many causes may get neglected. This is why the government is involved in areas that were once considered the realm of private foundations and the church, such as mental health and welfare. These important issues to society were not being addressed by private funding.
By being a part of a democracy, we accept that the government also represents the views of people with whom we may disagree. Keep working for what you believe in, and enough people may come around to your side that real change can happen.

Is taxation just? And you say you are a conscientious objector .Do you think its justice that others have to pay for your defense? Is it justice that i have to pay taxes to support unemployed single parents? Is it Justice that i,who have no kids, see my wages frittered away on schools and playgrounds and maternity units? That i am taxed at 33% of my wage to support others. To pay for services YOU have used ,that assumes that you are a uk resident born since 1978, in your lifetime.
Yes i think they are just.
Just about.

Taxation is very just and mostly fair, there certainly are exceptions!
But, as regards," Why should i pay for a war machine?"
That is up to your elected government, which you voted in, to spend your taxation in a correct and just way!
The fact that this is blatently not happening, leaves us all with one thing to do. Get out our current government, or force them to listen to their constituents and do what is right and proper.

Taxation is just, if it is used properly. Paying for the government to oversee projects for the common good, which no individual could do by themselves, is fair.
As to the "Concientious Objector", there are other options for you to fulfill service to your country. As we pay for you, and your beliefs, so shall you pay for us, and our beliefs. This seems fair, to all.

Yes, it pays for teachers, schools, roads, etc etc. The only problem with it is Congress who thinks it is a personal piggy bank.
