full opened door = 90 degree
half opened door = 45 degree
half closed door = 45 degree
therefore 1/2 opened door + 1/2 closed door = 90 degree
hence 1/2 opened door + 1/2 closed door = full opened door
OR
Let the opened door be triangle ABC right angle at B draw a angle bisector and median from vertex B meet AC at D therefore area of 1/2 opened door + 1/2 closed door = area of full opened door

It tells me about people`s wavering mind. The perennial "should I or should`t I" syndrome.. Even in this there is dicotomy. Many see this as a trap, too.
Such people will always throw the decision making to someone else. What more ( and that is the saddest part) if that decision turns out to be wrong , they will be the first one to say" I knew this would happen. I knew you took the wrong decision" These are worst kind of confidence builders

Depends. Sliding door?? Swing door?? Garage door?? Flap door?? Trap door??
Get more details..........some doors are best closed and some best fully opened but half-and-half will never get you a full one.
