I had pre-term labour with my son. I had, Contractions that feel like strong period cramps, they were 6-10 min apart lasting about 45sec to 1min long. Small amounts of bloody show(discarge) and the contractions never subsided while resting. If you do go early, they will start an IV and give you fluids, as this sometimes stops the labour, as it did in my case, and also give you the steroid injuections for the baby's lungs, incase you do deliver.
