Just click on your screen name jenna.... then click on edit my profile. You will the avatar links there.

Go to http://360.yahoo.com/ and upload an avatar to your profile > Now on Yahoo! Answers homepage click your name to go to your profile > Now on your profile, under “About Me” there’s an “Edit My Info” tab and click it > And finally for “Picture” put a mark next to “Use my Yahoo! 360 Picture” which should have you Yahoo! 360 avatar you uploaded in the beginning.
It took me some time to figure out how to get a custom avatar too. =)
