It is more commonly called ‘Pascal’s wager’, so if you do an internet search, you will have more success. It goes like this: If you had to bet whether or not God exists, Pascal figured you should weigh the options like this:
If I BELIEVE in God, and I’m wrong, then when I die it won’t make a difference.
If DON’T believe in God, and I’m wrong, then I spend eternity in hell.
Which seems like the worse consequence? Basically Pascal is saying that we have nothing much to lose by believing in God, so it is better to believe.
And of course if I believe in God and I’m right I have eternal life.
So Pascal says: “If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing.”
Some religious people don’t like it much because it is not a very good reason for believing in God. It’s self-serving. Crafty, rather than genuine. What I don’t like about it is that it is just plain silly. The problem is that most other religions can make the same claim. If you don’t believe in what I believe in, blah , blah, blah… So why should I pick any particular one of them?

Not really. If God exists I'm sure he could tolerate my reasoned disbelief in His existence without being upet enough to consign me to Hell. Apart from being an atheist I like to think I'm a good person...

when ever i saw a soul so self less called them god alive...& if some one believed in goodness he sure believes theres something godly in them...so if someones gonna disregard goodness correctly or erroneously will suffer for sure cause nothing good will ever cross him...
God is goodness thats all i believe in...& his hands r conscience & compassion....& ones who hold on those hands sure find peace
will not preach anything by calling names...& none of the gods want that...for sure
