Psychology is a science dealing with human behavior and I guess every psychologist would agree that whenever there are human beings around there would be an application of psychology. For one, one of the goals of this science is understanding/explaining human behavior-which brings about personal awareness, sensitivity to one self. Having this sense of awareness can make you understand yourself more as long as other people.

The human phychological makeup is basically what determines life as we know it. It is our unique and individual differences based on the individuality of thought, that makes this a more interesting place in which to live.
In terms of myself and community, any group will govern themselves by the use of a high authority figure. Someone must take the lead. Whomever that leader is, has his/her own way of thinking, and the group will basically be governed centered around that one thought process or main ideal. All other ideas can be negotiated, but the main idea stays the same for that group of people, be it in a community or world.
This is why it is important to select carefully whom will be our governments leaders, and why the people need to know about their ideals before election to an office of authority.
All subordinates are to follow the basic plan of the one whom is in charge. God help the people if the one who's in charge, has the wrong mindset.
