I am pregnant with my 5th baby I have been pregnant 7 times every pregnancy I have had has been bad but so far so good with this one I want a c-section because when I signed the papers last time I had a baby to get my tubes tied when it was to be done they said they couldn't because opening me up would be dangerous but my last child was over 9 pounds and was 2 weeks early I just feel done with childbirth I just feel they give people like Britney Spears and Anjelina Jolie c-sections people that only do it for vanity reasons and a person like me can't get one even when she has had so many problems including a child that died before birth I just want to know what options do I have.Sorry so long.

the reasons I say celebrities get c-sections for vanity purposes and this is what I believe because it just seems celebrities all seem to have so many problems with Childbirth but, 1)they have a plastic surgeon right there that gives them a tummy tuck which I have heard of and, 2) so they don't stretch their kitty kats if you know what I mean.

I've tried, my doc refused too.
I know a lot of celebs get it done. Angelina needed one I think baby was in the breech position.
But for us normal folks, they don't want to risk it.

Hmmm well I understand what you are saying though Dr's today shy away from C Sections whenever possible. I think with Britney and Angelina - it was their first cut, first surgery so the skin must not be as thin? I honestly am not sure.
I am sorry your pregnancies have been bad... many doctors take into account a persons age before tying tubes. I had three miscarriages and asked if they would just tie my tubes when I had to have a D&C and my Dr said she wouldn't do it then.. just in case i had second thoughts and during that time I was so hurt inside and out that I might not have been thinking clearly.
Good luck!

I have had to have two c sections. The first time the doctor gave me the option because my baby was 10 and a half pounds. The second time I opted for a vbac but my daughter would not drop down, so I had to have another c-section. I am pregnant with my third and they did not even give me an option. I do believe there are doctors that will perform a c-section on you if you just talk with them. I would look for a second opinion.

I didn't know people had c-sections for vanity reasons??? I thought it was the opposite, who wants that scar?
Anyways, i don't think there's anything you can do. There is tons of medical research that goes against planned c-sections.
I'm not sure I understand why you NEED a c-section. You say you want one so that you can get your tubes tied, is that right? That seems like a pretty dumb reason. You can go in to get your tubes tied at a later date. And there's plenty of very effective birth control methods you can use if youdon't want a 6th child.

Find a doctor that is sympathetic to your fears and concerns. Don't put up with a doctor that just blows you off. However, c-sections are at great risk to mom's and babies. He/she is going to have to do a great deal of proving medical necessity to your insurance company if there isn't any real indications for it. There is alot of unfairness between people who can buy what they want and common people, life isn't fair. You sound like you desperately need to stop having children, why is it that your husband didn't take that into consideration when you two decided to have another child?

It's not a good idea to have a c-section done unless you absolutely have to. It isn't painless like people try to say. My mom had to have six children through c-section and wished she could have had us naturally. As far as vanity goes, having a c-section will make it very hard to flatten your stomach out again because they cut through the muscle.

Unless you've had a prior c-section, the doctor won't do it. Tubal ligation is another surgery and you will have to do that separately. Of course, it's easier to do it if you had a c-section. If your MD won't do it, I don't know if you can convince him as it's his responsibility to treat you in the most appropriate way possible.

with me it was a must because my baby was breech..and after that i have had c sections..because my doctor said i was in danger..i would get another doctor who listens to me and my concerns and knew he was gonna be there through everything..i have a very special baby dr and i feel i can talk to him about anything..he is very sweet..and knows i love him..and i love the one i had b4 him but he quit delivering..so anyway i would find a doctor that cared so very much for my well being, and what i say..i made my dr cookies and he is spoiled..infact its been to long since i have seen him.... :)

A c section is a potentially very dangerous procedure. You will not be able to convince your doctor that you need one if the doctor says you don't.
A c section is something you want to AVOID.

well, I am a twin, my brother was much bigger than me even though we were both pre mautures. But have you even told him you want a c-section? If not that would be a good start
