You just do it. Life is about taking risks. You can't make an omlet if you don't break any eggs. If you are standing on the side of a pool wanting to get in, but know the water will be cold at first, still the only way to get into that pool fast is to just jump. It only hurts for a moment, then it feels good. I helps too if you know the person well enough that, if they don't feel the same for you, they want cruelly reject you, figuratively ripping your guts out. If they ARE that sort of person, you really should not want them anyway. Okay, I know, so love is blind. And sometimes stupid. Heck, I been there!
