The last few years most if not all the political commercials use this at the end. Why?

Just seems to me like a rather stupid thing to say. Of course (or so it would seem) they approve, seeing how they just said it.

Maybe if they didn't all say the exact same thing.

"Our message is important, I stand behind it, and hope you'll share it with your friends - thank you."

This isn't some aesthetic choice, but rather a law designed to make candidates take personal responsibility for all their advertising.

It does seem kind of obvious and a bit forced, and I think it's largely a useless bit of legalese that doesn't address the root of the problem of money in elections, but what do you expect.

It indicates that the politician has, at the very least, reviewed the ad and approved the content. It's a result of those 521s producing attack ads that the politician they are promoting may not actually approve for showing.

There was too much fraud going on. Ads were being aired by other people than the candidate himself, and the people were not getting the real message from the candidates. By saying this phrase, the candidate himself is testifying to the truth of the message.

I honestly do not know but here in the state i live in it is usually attached to Smear campaign ads by a certain (professional politician) who's affiliate i won't mention as it blurs my point.
