Why are there so many murders of girls and young women?

They just found the body of the missing Vermont student. Somehow I just knew she was dead.
Why? Why is this happening so often? What makes someone want to kill an innocent stranger?

I don't know if murder is the objective of these men who kidnap females. I think they have other motives but then realize that they could "get caught" if the woman is released. I think they kill her out of panic, a need to escape what they've done in the hopes they will get away with the crime. It's a sad and tragic sign of our times.

Ther seems to be an ever-increasing number of sickos who like to prey on people. When someone is caught, it almost always seems to be some maladjusted and mentally ill individual who has done similar crimes before, and invariably blames the crimes on 'voices' or a 'inner compulsion', or some sort or 'traumatic upbringing'.
These crimes seem to be increasing because of the increase in mobility by society, and the fact that they are widely reported.
As to why someone would do something like that, it is a power issue within themselves, or a sick individual who think they are smarter than everyone else and can get away with it.
Why these people do such things is something that only they know. Regardless, society has to do a better job in identifying the dangerous in society, and not let them prey on the regular people any more. If you are concerned, you have reason to be, PROTECT YOURSELF and those you love.

there have been so many murders of women and girls because sorry to say, the whole Adam and Eve thing... you know how they blame Eve for letting Adam eat the apple... i'm not trying to make a joke...seriously, men feel that women are their downfall and therefore they can't control themselves and these women need to be destroyed. there's also the aspect that women and girls/ children are easier targets becuse they are smaller in size and therefore easier to control and subdue....what makes someone want to kill a stranger? the fact that they don't know them allows them to disassociate themselves from their victim...they don't about them therefore they don't think about their parents looking for them or finding their dead body... it's a pu**y way of killing if you ask me

In the USA the overwhelming majority of victims of murder and violence in general is of the male sex. So the questions ought to be: Why are there so few murders of women? This is not meant to be cynic. I only want to make the point that western society takes the sufferings of men for granted and tells them not to wail. But girls and women are treated differently.

women are so trusting and so willing to help. there are sick men and women that count on that and prey on women. with so many women with similarities like hair color, height, weight, this can cause a delusional person so seek out that overbearing mother that beat them senseless or that coward of a mother that let an abusive father beat on them.

I think it's because these people did NOT grow up w/ much love given to them therefor they do not feel loved or know how to show love towards others , so in order to feel in control they do these SICK things, it's SO sad .
