O.K I know this may seem funny but am already 22 weeks and my dog's breath stinks! He doesn't even have to be right on me and I can smell his breath. I give him doggie treats to try and help he has had special dog food from petco. Heck, I even gave him doggie breath mints that he will eat but it doesn't work. He is an inside dog and we love him dearly I just can't stand his odor. The worse part is that he follows me everywhere he even tries to push the door open when I need privacy. He is well behaved just always within a few feet of me no matter where I am. To make things worse I have been advised by the doc to stay on bed rest. Huff my dog's name who weighs 50 lbs (beagle) feels that he is taking care of me and wont leave my side other than to poop, drink and eat. Oh and he snores! Lol Just as loud as my husband and some nights the snoring is in competition or they are tag team to see how long they can make the snore sound without a break in between. HELP!!!!

There are lots of breath things you can buy for your dog try them ALL until one works. Also get his teeth cleaned. As for the snoring, my father I believe still holds the record. His snores were soooo loud that they would shake the doors in the house. (I am not joking) My mother slept with a special kind of earplugs that fit your ear. You can get them at the drug store. They are NOT the ones you squish between your fingers to put in. Those hurt your ears if you sleep on your side. Ask at the drug store they should know. Only problem with them is you need a super loud alarm clock to wake you up. Good luck!!
By the way sometimes the sensitivity to the smell goes away later in the pregnancy and sometimes it becomes more acute so be prepared.
Hey you could always wear nose plugs for swimming when your in the house.

Have someone take him to the vet for you, he might need a tooth pulled from infection. That could be the cause for the bad smell. If not, set up an appointment with the vet to clean your dog's teeth, then after that's been done, you can purchase toothpaste and a toothbrush for dogs. Use it on a regular basis. There is also some kind of dental food, I think Nutro makes it, that might help too.

As for the snoring, could he be overweight? I don't know how big a beagle is supposed to be, but 50# sounds kinda big to me. Again, go to the vet with this problem, they should be able to help.

Beagles have a very distinct smell. You can tell when it is a beagle and not some other dog. He may not be used to eating grass when he has an upset stomach since he has been an indoor dog. If his stomach isn't completely settled it could be making his breath worse. He is snoring because when he runs in and out, going from air conditioning/ heating to outdoor temperatures it is giving him a cold. Dogs are more sensitive to the temperature change than we are and they get a sort of doggie cold. You probably need to get him used to spending half of his time outside.

Charcoal chews (available at pet stores) will sweeten his breath, but it sounds like he may have a bad teeth (which would cause bad breath and snoring). Take him to the vet for the cleaning ... they anaesthetize the dog and carefully clean the teeth. It's a bit expensive, but could solve your problems.

What are you feeding him? That special food from Petco isn't agreeing with him. Get him the cheap stuff from the grocery store. Give him doggie bisquits. Brush his teeth...yes, brush them.
you are just stressed and he is driving you insane.

Try giving him Greenies. It will help his breath. You can find them at your local pet store or at Petsmart or Petco. Try at your local pet store first. They can be cheaper there.
