i just hate it: why are we created in such a way that looks have to matter. why isn't it all about the inner beauty.

please don't write about the inner beauty taking the lead. Sure, you can immediately start to dislike someone even if they look great but appear arrogant, self-centred, etc...but the inner beauty unfortunately isn't enough all the time.

what are your thoughts on this

I think it has to do with the old level genes in our genetic makeup.
It is the same in the wild as well.
Attraction is due to mating.
And for a species to mate they look for strong traits in the future partner. If my theory holds true, Looks are the new age equivalent to weeding out the weak in the herd for better mating stock.

Looks are the front line I guess because they help you meet people in the first place. You can look at one person judge from just their hair, skin, nails and clothes that they've lead a sheltered, protected sort of life, then look at another gal across the way with tatts, spiked hair, short nails, and combat boots, and immediately you know who you'd rather talk to. It just happens that way. I guess it keeps the arguments and the shock factor down that you can look at someone and get an idea of the sort of person your about to meet before get in too deep with someone.

I wouldn't say everything is in the appearance, the saddest thing is that if a person is physically unattractive, some people don't notice them or give them a fair chance to see "what they are all about".
As they always used to say, "you can't judge a book by it's cover", unfortunately many "books" are overlooked simply because they don't attract attention to themselves.

I AM IN LOVE WITH QUASI MOTTO.
I also am in love with the elephant man. I look at eyes and see their souls through them. I can look past looks when I see something that connects to my soul such as a smile or a twinkle in the eye. I have seen many so called good looking men who had very ugly souls. Do this next time see a person through the windows to their soul and you will look at them differently.

I have lived long enough to know exactly the body type that does it for me. I am not that body type myself, but I'm not going to apologize for my own preferences. I am friends with all types of people, all shapes and sizes, colors and genders. But its very obvious that I prefer a certain body type in both women and men. Actually two types of men, but I am not male identified so they were simply playthings when I was seeing both men and women.
I like shorter people as I am short and don't like being overshadowed. I also like my women to be extremely feminine with leaner but athletic bodies. My g/f is a ballerina, she's perfect for me, an amazing back. I like blonds.
I like two types of men. Lean pretty gender bending ones with dark hair and white skin. And heavy bald guys who cross dress.

I doubt you will discover Taylor rapid at those companies even with the incontrovertible fact that. She strikes me as a Kmart style of gal.

I was always drawn to olive complexion, back curly hair, and dark eyes. I fell very much in love with a man-the moment I saw him. He had reddish thinning hair, freckles, and blue eyes. Looks do not count.
