First, thanks to all good people who will help me in this question. Much appreciated. I would like to know if i was arrested in the year of 2000 for the possible crime of burglary and larcey, but i was never trialed because before the trial i left United States. Will the clause of statue of limitation applied to my case? if yes, how long is the period of limitation? If not, does the aboved said crimie considered as federal crime? if yes, does that mean i can no logner enter United States (to any state)? if i can enter US, can police arrest me from any state then send me to the state where i was firstly accused? Honestly, i will like to go back to US. The state of arrest made was California so i will appreciate someone who knows the criminal laws of CA to answer me. sorry for all the trouble.

don't be so sure that you were not tried & convicted. many states will try a case even if the person on trial isn't there, that way they have the conviction, with out having to worry about how long you are out of the county. i would suggest getting a lawyer to investigate. YAhoo is great for info, but a lawyer would be a big help to you in this case...

if you were arrested there is no statute of limitations in your case you are a wanted fugitive you go back to the USA with all the homeland security you will be busted at once taken to the nearest jail and held for a deportation hearing to the state where the crime was committed
or you may have been tried in absentcia and you are now an escaped fugitive you mentioned California big big house there

What's this "possible crime" of burglary and larceny?? If you were not guilty you shouldn't have fled. Someone out there lost their sense of security from the burglary and larceny -- which is why they are considered violent crimes! Sorry, but you may not be able to just waltz back in the US, apologize, and happily go on with your life.

i believe there is a 7yr statue of limitation on most crimes except murder although you may still be held until law enforcement contacts calf to see if they want to extradite you what a mess you have gotten yourself into
