Despite ending his career with an infamous head-butt, Zinedine Zidane was nominated for this year's FIFA World Player of the Year award.

Zidane, the former captain of France, was ejected during the World Cup final against Italy for butting Marco Materazzi in the chest. Zidane was red-carded and Italy won the title on penalty kicks.

It sets a bad example for other players and should be removed form the nominees.

Does anyone agrees?

It sets a very bad example that Zidane is nominated as a FIFA player of the year after ending his career with a red card for headbutting Materazzi. I think the only reason he was nominated is because of his retirement. He was a very talented football player, don't get me wrong, but his final moments on the field were not filled with glory.

No.All the hard work he did through the year doesnt get forgotten for a minutes anger.SO the FIFA was absolutely rite in nominating hom and wathc Zizou winning it.Zizou was better than anyone else in the World Cup 2006.He also showed that he was a gem of a brother and a True man.So I suggest that every man should follow him and be as good a brother like him.

Ugh. I knew he'd end up nominated but I really hope that they don't give it to him. There are players far more deserving of it.
