For me, it was having total freedom to go to the park with my sister and friends, often taking our bikes, and being able to stay out until it started to turn dark. There was no fear in those days (1960s.) Children these days have everything, yet they have nothing. They have every possible electronic gadget: computers, electronic games, mobile phones, but they haven't got freedom. Having fun cost nothing when we were small. Now it costs hundreds of pounds and still doesn't compare. I feel sorry for today's children and their parents. The safety of children must be a constant worry for parents.

Oh I don't have a most memorable time. I have alot of memorable times.
One was us kids riding our bikes to the lake, over dirt roads. We laughed alot.
Another was all the times we prepared for Christmas, with the shopping in the fresh fallen snow, the excitement of wrapping each little gift we bought,to decorating the tree, to preparing for Christmas dinner, setting grandmas table with her best antique dishes, making up the fruit basket(it was always so huge),to the opening up of presents.
Another was just playing all day long outside, back then the days were mellow and Very very long and i could do so much in one day .
Ah, thanks for allowing me the moment to go back and remember.

Oh,Oh, there was the time the bore hog got out and we all had to catch this humungus thing and I,m sure we looked like a bunch of nuts. Then there was the time the Draft horses got out and they were running through yards and then the highway--that was wild! Oh and the time I got my first pony , it scared me to death,it was huge ,I was about 4 then. Oh and my dog ,He was a real nut,he'd run as fast as he could and knock me over and kiss me until id be yelling for help.

I agree with that as far as back in the 70's. Me too! I could SAFELY ride my bike or walk almost (only because it may be too far away for my mom's sake) anywhere and still make it back home in ONE peace!! I miss that SO much! I miss it for my kids nowadays!
