First off, I would suggest NOT opening things unless you signed up for it, or if you know the contact....you are being dangerous about opening UNKNOWN senders....be careful and just trash these e-mails

I keep getting emails about mortgage approvals addressed to other people and about meeting up at the weekend. There are also others with 'here are some pictures of Ryan,' with attachments. I have been in touch with BT who say they cannot trace where they are coming from without me opening them and am certainly not going to open any of them! The tag lines have so many mis-spellings on them (morgage for instance) that they cannot possibly be from a real company. I just keep deleting them and hope eventually BT will trace the sender and neutralise them.

They are probably trying to send you a virus. Don't open the emails. Block the sender, and delete the message. And just in case, run a virus scan after you do that with a high powered scanner like VET Anti Virus.

Best course of action is just to ignore mail from unfamiliar address and with silly casual subjects .
When you reply you give away your IP adress .
When you open , and the time you spend on such mails could be detected by the sender using spy programs .
Virus too could be introduced on your system , to spy , steal data or simply disable your computer .
Use no spam setting .

Yeah, it's a common problem. Never open e-mails you don't recognize. Just mark them as 'Spam' and the next time they try to e-mail you it will go straight into your 'Bulk' folder which you can safely empty from time to time. I do this and it has cut down the junk e-mails in my inbox no end. Hope this helps.

Its probably not a virus as Yahoo scans for viruses, and your firewall and anti virus should do that too.
What happens is these are test e-mails to see if your account is active. When you open them they dial back hiome and let the spammer know your account is active, your address is then sold on to other spammers.
Never open an e-mail unless you know who the sender is! Nobody else should have your e-mail address.
Many people use up to 3 e-mail addresses; the first is from your ISP and you keep that private.
Your second is for friends and family, and to register software and so on. Its also very private, never publish it on the web or e-bay.
Your third is public, use it on e-bay or wherever and set up a new one every 3 months or so and delete it when it fills up with spam.

Get a good firewall, anti virus that scans e-mail, anti spyware and anti adware.
Scan your pc to be sure that you;re not infected, Trojans (spyware) are the biggest threat now, not viruses. Trojans steal your details for identity theft.
Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it.

The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Zone Alarm firewall is free for

personal use and stops unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic. You choose which programs are

allowed to access the internet. It's fairly easy to use and updated regularly.

You may find that the coloured bit is a picture to get round spam filters. Use your email program to mark them as spam and get rid of them. Mozilla Thunderbird does this very well.

hi
its one of two things
either a malicious email which will contain a virus which you allow into your computer when opening the email
or its a spam email which if you open the email alerts the sender that its an active email address
you`ll notice after you open it that you start getting a lot of spam email sent to the address
best just to ignore/delete them if you dont who they are from

Just delete without opening.
And the reason so many have incorrectly spelled words is because they are trying to get around any Spam filters.
