mine is peter kay cos he talks about stuff that remind me of growing up and i think a lot of people can relate to his material!

i do love peter kay for the same reasons but he hasnt really done many stand up shows. billy connoly has done it for years

Gotta be Richard Pryor! His brand of comedy made fun of how blacks and whites interact with one another and it taught us to be comfortable and tolerant of each other. Some of his most hilarious moments for me were when he was on Saturday Night Live. He was in several movies also. My fav is Which Way Is Up? He was able to be a chameleon as in this movie he was able to play several different roles. Check this movie out, it is hilarious. Eddie Murphy, also one of the greatest comedians, was influenced by Pryor. His life was sad and a tragedy though. He was born to a prostitute, battled drugs and near the end of his life he got multiple sclerosis. He's really missed.

"Bill Hicks" is good but there are so many. The early "Robin Williams" stuff is great even though he was high on coke. "Eddie Murphy" in Delerious is one of my best ones. Then theres the "Lenny Bruce" debate as in "Dennis Leary" ripped off "Bill Hicks" who ripped off the late great "Lenny Bruce".
