False negatives are very common. Many women don't produce enough hormone to show up in their urine until they are about 4 days late. Even then, the positive line may be very, very faint.

It is unusual to have a regular period just 4 months after giving birth. Usually, women bleed for 4 to 6 weeks after giving birth and, to prevent infection, sex is usually not recommended for 6 to 8 weeks postpartum.

That said, pregnancy begets pregnancy and the more often you become pregnant, the easier it is to get pregnant again. That's why many people who need IVF to have their first pregnancies, conceive their second children with no intervention.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. I cannot imagine going through pregnancy only to lose the baby. I do wish you all the best in healing.

Obviously, you and your partner need to have genetic testing to rule out further likelihood of birth defects. And, regardless of your current state, it might be a good idea for you to take prenatal vitamins all the time. Just in case you decide to get pregnant in the future or it happens without a plan. The first two weeks after conception are when vitamins can have the most influence in preventing birth defects.

Hi, If you think you are pregnant you should redo the pregnancy test. you can be pregnant this soon . I suggest you test with the urine when you first get up in the morning as it has the highest amount of pregnancy hormone this early in the pregnancy. I too had a negative test when I was pregnant. If you are pregnant go to the ob as soon as possible, take your prenatal vitamins, take good care of yourself and the Dr. will help you through this. I'm sorry about your baby and what you went through, but there is no reason things won't be just fine this time. Take care and good luck.

i know some women who always have to get a blood test because.. they dont get a + home test until 16 to 18 days after their missed period... so i would either test again or call and get a blood test at the docs.

i'm so sorry for your loss.. my sis in law lost her lil girl 2 days before her inducion day.. the cord was around her neck twice and she had a club foot...it was a awful time.. my prayer are with you and your famliy
