Causes can be different, but psychological ones are the most prevalent.
Remember: "the brain is the most important sexual organ."
I can be able to get an erection and orgasm masturbating alone and become impotent close to the sexiest girl I had been craving!
Such facts happen inside a couple just imagine with mates or unknown people.

Normally, when a couple is having sexual intercourse, both will
experience orgasm when the timing is right. As far as I'm
concerned, I've experienced it too.
However, in your case, you prefer to use your hand to get an
orgasm more than the normal method of orgasm by penetration of penis inside the vagina.

well, the suggestions that the previous people made are very true, plus another point: you may not be attracted to the person or trust them completely. That can hamper anything that will bring you to orgasm.

Because your partner isn't hitting your spot. Show him what makes you get off. Sometimes they have to be taught. Not all women are alike, but we all have our trigger points. During intercourse the male may not always stimulate the clitoris or perhaps not enough stimulation for the woman to climax.
If you want it done right, then do it yourself! You know where and when to stimulate yourself and get it done faster and easier.

I had that problem too but when i changed partners I was nuttin like crazy so thats wat i'd do all depends on wat there doin
