My mate has found a bargain of a holiday that means me and my son will be away for a week come back christmas day well night really. its a proper bargain all inclusive in gran canaria. But with it being on top of xmas should i go or should i stay here for the great tv and family get together?

GO!! And have a fab time, your son will love it and you can always celebrate Xmas in the UK when you get back. You'll only be a day late anyway. Lifes too short enjoy your holiday theres always another Xmas next year and the year after that and the year after that etc etc.

Why is your mate not going with you and your son is the only question I have ? Could you make it a family vacation ? If it is because of work and he has found such a good deal for you two then go and have fun ! You would still be back X mas night to celebrate with him and then spend the next day with family and friends. It will be just as special. Just remember that holiday travel is stressful and leave pleany of time to get places. Is your son old enough that this would be a special time for him to remember ? If not, then just go with what your heart says ! Holidays are what we make them and who we're with...not just where we are.

Really you have to do waht you want to do! But if it's just the worry of missing xmas you could always make up for it on boxing day! ypur son will love that xmas has been extended!

I'd go its a good oportunity you can always do the family thing next year, but you've probably been doing the same thing at christmas for the past donkeys years so its time for a change! enjoy yourself.

I always travel on Christmas day, no crowds. go and have a great time, celebrate Christmas on Boxing day
