i heard in the radio that my chemical romance is an emo band.i know my chemical romance but i want to know whether is emo another rock genre or what.can somebody kindly tell me?thank you

genres are just ways for people to describe bands. try to stay away from the lables and just listen to what you like!

emo is the abbreviation of emotive hardcore
my chemical romance are not emo
Dashboard Confessional, Envy,The Faeries etc
these are emo bands

emo means emotional which like means suicidal so its probaby jus a another genre for really dark music
