your second o2 sensor is going nutz because the converter is not there and is trying to lean your mix out.

Boy what a bunch of no nothings. Take it from a mechanic the O2 sensor has nothing to do with it.
The cat was put on the car for a number of reasons
#1 to cut emissions.
#2 back pressure to force unburned gas to burn

Yes putting on a new cat will solve the problem you made by taking it off. Is some states it is a federal offense to drive a car with out one. It will not pass the emissions if you have to have it checked to license the car.

check the O2 sensors, you can take them out and use a butane torch and and burn the screen till its white, then put it back in, that should help see if the sensor is bad, it will make it run better for a while if that was the problem, usaually a couple 100 miles and it'll need it again. also try cleaning the idle air control, i just use carb cleaner and work the spring back and forth until the cleaner runs out clear. and you might also check the saftey gas switch in the passenger floorboard too, it might be trying to come unplugged.

Rick2914 is ideal - lots of catalytic converters are misdiagnosed as plugged at the same time as they honestly are not. I somewhat have in difficulty-free words ever seen one which replaced into plugged (in a 1982 Corolla), and that i have seen truly some converters. by technique of ways, even if it is plugged you are able to't truly damage the catalyst out. It fuses right into a glassy mass it truly is not basic as stone. in case you are able to damage it up it wasn't undesirable to start with. in the Corolla it replaced right into a manifold converter that replaced into undesirable (the vehicle replaced into initially bought in California) and that replaced into no longer required for my state, so on the advice of the community muffler shop I broke up the catalyst with a three/8" metal rod and a 4 lb hammer - it took about 0.5 an hour. The Haynes guide for the 1990-1993 Honda Accord has a slick technique for testing the exhaust gadget for reduce. connect a manifold rigidity gauge to the intake manifold and be conscious the freeing at idle. Run the engine as a lot as 2000 rpm or so with the throttle for some seconds and all of unexpected launch the throttle. If the gauge drops decrease back to about the unique interpreting interior of two seconds the exhaust is advantageous, yet when it gradually recovers or looks to dangle for some seconds before dropping there is severe decrease back rigidity. you are able to also unfasten the collector flange and verify out blowing into the tailpipe - be particular to wipe the black ring off your face later on. in case you are able to't blow air by ability of t you've a restricted exhaust, yet no longer unavoidably the cat. at the same time as using, a plugged converter has the feeling of the accelerator pedal no longer doing something once you get previous a particular element - in the Corolla the perfect 0.5 of the accelerator stream did not do something.

It doesn't sound like your catalytic converter was bad , they don't clog up as much as people think. if it was the cat. conv. your floor board would have felt like it was on fire and at night the under neath of the car would glow from being hot. A new cat. conv. isn't necessary (unless your state law says you have to have one ) I would check the fuel pump. A week pump will make a car run like sh!t , and act like the cat. conv. is clogged,or a vacuum leak. Good luck !!

Your problem comes down to this, you need to replace the catalytic converter on your car. That "IS" the source of problems you are now facing.

sounds to me the cat wasn't bad. did you check fuel pressure? ever change the fuel filter? sounds like you better take it to somebody that actually knows what he's doing!
