Pretty much where this comes from is that doctors have found that sometimes, when they remove a breast cancer tumor from a patient, there are often high levels of aluminum in the tumor. Aluminum is one of the main ingredients in almost every type of deodorant.
So, basically, no one wants to come right out and admit it if the aluminum buildup is contributing to the tumor; they've just admitted that there are sometimes high levels of aluminum present in the tumor. Virtually ANYTHING you put on the outside of your body is going to be absorbed through the skin, so it's logical to assume that a tumor, being inside your body, might be comprised of some of the same things.
It seems as if the jury is still out, for the most part, on whether the aluminum is actually contributing to the cancer... but there are a couple aluminum-free alternatives out there if it concerns you.
I use Tom's of Maine, which comes in both roll on and spray, and is aluminum-free. I've been able to find it locally, but if you can't, the website is...

Seems to do the trick for me.

Alternatives: Smelling horribly bad.
Good deodorants: I LOVE Almay. It's hypoallergenic and does a really good job. It doesn't leave marks on clothing because it's clear.
WHY DO YOU WANT DEODORANT TO LAST MORE THAN 24 HOURS? Try showering now and then to prevent the yellow marks on your clothes!

Worse case scenario is you're allergic to the chemicals in the product and will break out because of it.
They are not unhealthy to use.
You should look at the products at the store you buy it from, it'll have all the info you want on the container.
There are 'dress shields' used to protect clothes. You can try some form of powder, baby or others.

its safe but if you must minimize quantity you inhale or suck through pores, dab it on cotton and then apply on the underarm. also make sure you wash it at the end of the day with soap water/rosewater. thats what works for me.:)
alternative to deo if you dont go out much in the sun or when you do if you dont sweat much odor is: add a dash of lemon to your bathwater or savlon.

Probably not good to use with broken skin or nicked skin (after shaving). Its safe if skin is in fine condition.
