Perhaps they are hummingbirds. They make a buzzing noise or a humming noise and are fast moving birds.
Hummingbirds are small birds in the family Trochilidae. They are known for their ability to hover in mid-air by rapidly flapping their wings, 15 to 80 times per second (depending on the species). Capable of sustained hovering, the hummingbird has the ability to fly deliberately backwards or vertically, and to maintain position while drinking from flower blossoms. They are named for the characteristic hum made by their wings

If it is a bird than the answer is humming bird.
But there is a species of moth that looks like a humming-bird and is therefore called a hummingbird-moth.It is sometimes confused as a bird, especially confused as a hummingbird, because not only does it look like a humming bird, but also hums like one, drinks nectar like one,and is about the same size.
