Well I've experienced healthcare in the US and the UK. The US is very expensive, the UK is free. You get what you pay for!!! While it would be nice to have the option of free health care, as no doubt some people really need it, I would rather pay the insane costs in exchange for the fantastic care, the cleanliness, and the comfort. Good health is more important than money!

The quality of care is great, but very expensive. It's a big mess. Insurance companies pay doctors less than the doctors' bill. The doctors then overcharge the uninsured to make up the difference. Doctors are limited to treatment choices made by insurance companies, how the insurance companies know what is best for the patient is a mystery. Oh, yeah, they don't care about the patient, they care about pleasing the stock holders. Because of this it seems that all doctors can do is write a prescription for any problem then write a different prescription to fix problems caused by the first prescription. When this doesn't work the patient is sent to a specialist who treats them like the original doctor would if the insurance company would have allowed it in the first place.

You will find despite the growing consensus of people that USA does not only have a weight problem, but other countries are not that much different. The USA has the problem of plenty of food, alot of countries have not the food supply we do. I rate the USA as having a serious problem with eating the wrong foods and not taking the time to eat right.

Amazing technology. Medical system treats symptoms, seldom understands causes. Does not even understand relationship between nutrition and health. Is the marketing arm of the pharmaceutical companies. Most male physicians are too arrogant to be capable of healing others.

When it comes to healing and health rather than suppression of symptoms:

Ancient Chinese medicine seems to work much better. Folk medicine is better. Native American medicine is better.

health care is non-existent for anyone who can't afford it, although for those who can afford it it is above adequate so it isn't really fair to judge the system as a complete body because it's provides such extreme services contingent on what's being paid.
