I downloaded a DJ program from the internet, played it and deleted it from the computer. Ever since then, when I open 'my computer', the icon for the C drive has changed. I click on it to open it and a small window appears saying

"windows cannot find the program mixvibespro.exe. The program is needed for opening files of type, 'file'. Type in the executable file to used instead."
Then it gives me a space to enter what i want.

I can access the hard drive using the right mouse button, and clicking on explore or open, but why has it changed and what can i do to get rid of this mixvibes thing.

Your help is much appreciated.

Open Widnows Explorer
Select Tools - Folder Options
Select File Types
Look in the list for the file type 'Drive'
If it makes any reference to the program that you installed/uninstalled, then delete this line.

Hope that helps

Maybe you delete the software 'manually', so your windows think that DJ Program still exists in your Windows, the easy ways to clean up all the mess is Install the Program again, and uninstall it from control panel - add remove program, if it's still doesn't work, try find in drive C:\ , autorun.inf, and delete it (if you find it).

Regedit and enter mixvibespro.exe as your search then delete any reference to it in your registry.

Also check your startup folder and if you find a shortcut to it there, delete the shortcut.
