I have a friend that I met on the computer and my mommy says that I shouldn't be her friend because she could be mean.
How whould my mommy know she hasn't even met her and I haven't either but I want to and my mommy won't let me! Why?

your mummy might be right,you just communicate online just to know something about life not because you want to know each other, it might be risk because you are just communicating with somebody you dont know before.
so when the person tell you she is a teenager she might not be and by the time you meet her now she will want to convince you and it is risk.
listen to your mum she know better than you do
there are some wicked souls online

Well your mommy is a very wise lady. You should be very care full who you talk to on the Internet. Sometimes when you meet people on-line or in real life they can act really nice to you at first to gain your trust.
Once they gain your trust, they could say really mean stuff to you, and try to hurt you or even worse. Sometimes their are people who try to act like a child, who are really bad people and they are not your friend. Listen to your mommy.
Remember that you should never tell anyone your real name, address, phone number or any other personal stuff on the computer; unless your mommy or daddy is with you. If your mommy tells you that your new friend might be mean.
It maybe that your new found friend might not be a very nice person after all.
