You can trust me on this one because I'm chinese and I have a book on these things. If you were born in 1982 you are born in the year of the Dog. It doesn't matter wat month you were born in.

1982 is the sign of the water Dog. My Mother was a water dog.
The Dog is the most likeable in the Chinese horoscope. These people are honest, intelligent, and straightforward. Very loyal and fair. Can get along without being demanding.Humanitarian at heart like the Tiger. Only violent if attacked. Has sense of duty which promotes trust. Happiness can come from worrying about and protecting those you love the most. Water is the element that is of your year making you intuitive and hard to lead a stray.

The year of 82 was the year of the Dog in Chinese Zodiac. May was April in Chinese calender of that year. April is the month of the Snake in every Chinese year. I hope I am correct. For your interest, there were two Chinese Aprils,(4-24 to 5-22, 5-23 to 6-20), and 13 months in 1982. I hope I am correct.

I believe it is the ying earth dog. Most people only tell you one part of the zodiac because they don't realize that the chinese calender is sixty years long. I believe you were born in the ying or good section of the earth cycle in the year of the dog. It is acyually a very good time to be born in the year of the dog which is an earth creature. FYI, there is a ying and a yang section to each cycle, there are five elemental cycles, earth, wind, fire, water, and metal. And , there are twelve zodiac symbols all related to a story of twelve demigods that come in animal form bringing either good or bad tidings with them. In your cas e it is good tidings.
