Presumably because they take the line that they only hijacked the plane to escape their country, and are therefore actually refugees. Just another example of how illogical purposive interpretation of the human rights act can be. No one should ever stoop to crime or endangering other lives in order to get what they want. Like most people on here, i oppose this idea - but I suspect we need a change of government :)

housing is allocated on a points system in most councills, you obviously are not in as much need for housing as the others above you on the list.

you try going to the council and see why. as soon as you go in the doors, its paki this, indian that and before you no it you've been waiting for 4 hours and theres still still some foreign git standing there argueing the staff black and blue, while the british ppl aren't allowed to voice their opinions any more
