I have a lovely maltese dog. She's as cute as a button. When we found a stray kitten we took it home and our maltese came down with milk and nursed it.
The cat is now bigger than she is and they are the best of friends. They keep each other company when we're out and make us laugh like crazy when they play together: it's better than watching cartoons. If you can, get both!

A long time ago I had a cat. I don't remember ever being annoyed at having to care for him. Cats are independent. All you have to do is put out food and water, change the litter box, and give the occasional ear scratch. Dogs are more work by far. I have four dogs right now and I have regretted it more than once. They are hard to train. They are more destructive. They will crap in the house and males just love to mark their territory. My oldest male dog has pissed on my dirty clothes hamper, my female dog, and even my bunny rabbit. Hello! These things (material and living) are not his! It's infurriating sometimes. It's really a pain in the *** a lot of the time so be smart and get a cat. (Just so you know, I also have 4 kids on top of my 4 dogs and 1 rabbit. I also have a very large child. (my husband, lol) If you are without my full house a dog might be cool for you but if you have a busy life you will end up cranky like me, lol. Take care. I hope you make the right choice.

Both. I have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 1 rat, and a fish. But if it is a spider I will either step on it or scream bloody murder.

Dogs become very attached to a person or a family. But in the case of cats, they become attached to the place more than to the person.
But to me doggies are my world. you can count on them at any time.
Yet my brother preffers cats. It depends on each person. Try raising both then perhaps you will know.
Its upto you to decide.
