I don't get sound from places like youtube, sesame street, Yahoo Messenger etc. It seems like I only get sound from WMP. What gives? I've checked all my sound card settings and updated/rolled back driver and still nothing.

It sounds like the sound plug-ins for Flash and Yahoo Messenger are not installed or intilizing properly to me. It could be a memory problem of not having enough memory (RAM).

If your computer had Windows Me or worse yet Windows 98 on it, and you upgraded to Windows XP then you probably brought along some of the problems from the old OS. Not to mention the computer probably barely met the requirements for installing Windows XP. I have seen too many people try to upgrade their older computers to the new OS to try and save money only to find that it doesn't work very well. I'm not saying that's what you did, but just in case it is you have an idea what might be the cause of your problems.

If you have a newer computer, you should have at least 512 Mb of RAM, but 1 G is even better for Windows XP.

If you have checked all the sound cards and levels there are to things that you can do:

If you have a desktop: 1. try other speakers.

If you have a laptop: 1. Open control Panel\ Sounds and audio devices. Check if your hardware is warking.
2. If it says that it does go to the closest support center for your computer.
