I'm a male.
If you keep it to yourself then it will haunt you for the rest of your life and you may or may not be able to carry on with your relationship.
If you tell your partner that you strayed, expect a major emotional outburst. Few can hold their emotions in when it comes to being unfaithful. In time, your significant other may forgive you or may not. That's the chance you'll have to take. As for trusting you even if the person does stay...that's going to take some time.

Male: I say admit it... your boyfriend/girlfriend deserves to know the truth. If you're cheating and lying... does your boyfriend/girlfriend really mean that much to you? I say do both of you a favor and get out of the relationship.

I'm a female.. personally i've never cheated on my boyfriend before nor has he cheated on me, but we've talked it over before promising that we'd tell each other in case we really did cheat and i think i'll stick to that pledge... it would be so much better to have the fact come from you than somebody else right? and you said someone who i REALLY love, then definitely, the guilt will haunt me for the next 60 years :S

Are you referring to the ‘phone sex’ you asked about in your previous question?
I have never cheated on a partner, and I’m not about to start.
All I can suggest that if you made a mistake and are not likely to allow it to happen again, then perhaps you should forgive yourself, and not say anything to your partner.
If you intend to cheat again… Get another partner to replace the one you have because you don’t deserve the one you have !!!

This is a highly debated question with out a doubt. My ex has yet to admit it even after she gave me VD twice. I for gave my wife several
times. There comes a time when enough is enough!
Women do for give at times but seldom ever let you for get it! Men do for give and after ward prefers to for get it!
You have to decide this for your self as you know your situation! I would how ever would say come clean!

If you cheated you probably don't deserve the time of day from your bf/gf..I'd hope you'd be honest that way he/she can get out before they invest too much emotion in a relationship with a flake

They have a right to know, you could have contracted an STD and they have a right to know that they might need to look out for that, love is not about lies and deceit as soon as you bring that into the relationship love goes away.

Women are much better at handling this than men, typically. If it was a man I would say never tell him.
If it's a woman, then use your own judgement based upon their personality.

Im female and I did cheat one time. I told him. I wish I hadn't. I think the truth at this time needs to be kept to yourself, why hurt the person more than they need to be hurt.

if you admit this to your sweetheart then it's over, trust is gone...forgiveness is possible but how difficult to be emotionally secure with a person who's cheated on you, how difficult to trust them 100% like before, it's like a job...
