I think some here are misunderstanding your question, are you asking why Yahoo can't flter that out before they even reach us on a global basis?

There is some logic to that and i'm sure the technology is there but maybe not the accuracy it would need.

The problem with spam is the millions sent every day and some people actually use this stuff, they stupidly click the links so then the Spammer sees that it actually works.

It's junk mail to millions with virtually no cost involved compared to snail mail.

I think Yahoo and other companies are concerned that genuine emails maybe deleted in error, maybe some would be important business mail for companies, maybe most just the usual rubbish friends send to each other.

The market is saturated with email companies, maybe their just not willing to take a risk and go for it.

Over the years i have changed email a few times where companies have rubbish filters, Yahoo has got better but still has some way to go because the odd good email has been processed as junk. That means i can't trust the system 100% to look after my messages, i still review bulk mail before deleting which sort of defeats the point of having one.

I do agree that deleting at source would be a great idea, chopping it before it even gets to us even if it means employing people to review them say where an email is sent to 5 people or more, the network could pick up on this.

Now, isn't that a job for the prisons population, what about all those immigrants waiting to get into the country, or even more controversially the unemployed?

It is not Yahoo's responsibility to stop your spam. You are doing everything the spammers need you to do so they can get your email address. Once they have it and trick you into responding to one they have a confirmed email address and you now go on the permanent list. This is sold to anyone willing to pay.

The Yahoo Mail help site has information on preventing spam. The Federal Trade Commission has extensive information also. A Google search will get you tons of info to help you. Be careful because some spammers have sites set up to get your email address.

Yahoo's enormously stable at filtering unsolicited mail out. First, turn on your bulk mail folder, than way the unsolicited mail won't get into your inbox. definitely, before you do, decide on the unsolicited mail and hit "unsolicited mail" that's going to checklist the message to Yahoo and block the handle, which on occasion enables. additionally, do not sign in for any crap or enter your digital mail handle on any random web content, it extremely is a sturdy thank you to get a great sort of unsolicited mail. If that would not paintings, then get a clean mail account.

Junk mail doesn't find you by accident! When you visit a site, don't click on everything that catches your eye as it's there for a reason!
