That's so weird that you asked this....I seen my favourite movie today on t.v. It's a 4 hour movie and I missed the first hour, but that's cool.
anyway....The Deer Hunter has been my favourite movie ever since I can remember. My Mom gave me the book to read when I was about 13 years old. Of course I loved the book as well.
I've seen a 'lot' of good movies since this one, but if I had to pick...

Ai no Kusabi. That's the best yaoi anime ever created. Yes, it has some "xxx" parts IN it, but I'll kill anyone who just calls it mere porn. AnK totally transcends your average sex film. It's a poignant masterpiece in the genre of yaoi (male/male, no hetero!).
Anything by Hayao Miyazaki or Studio Ghibli also rocks! If you're talking about American films... none come to mind at the moment. lol

Tombstone. A movie about the battle of the o.k. corral. Western movies kick @ss. Every time I watch this movie i want to load my revolver and saddle up my horse and go uphold some justice with these little gangs of punk kids these days.

I love classics-my favourite feel good,get over the blues movie is-Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth.The 5+ hour version!I have stayed up until the wee hours watching this one.(Sigh)

Gone with the Wind... I could watch the movie over and over and never tire of it. For its day and time, it was perfect... and the actors and actresses could not be beat... they brought the movie to life.
