It is a phrase from a John Lennon song. Cold Turkey. It is about him quitting drugs and the pain he is in from withdrawals. Goose pimples can drive you crazy but if you could imagine it down to the bone, it would hurt like nothing before. Guessing you haven't listened to many of his songs before.
