We'll, most of the information is reliable, but they sometimes delete or change the information and there are also times when they can be wrong, since anyone can change the information. But, I usually trust the information since they seem right.
If you want to be sure, you can try other free services like Encarta.

You will have inconsistencies with articles in Wikipedia. If everyone can edit, what happens when everyone disagrees? They put a flag on the page stating that some of the information is disputed. An example of this would be:
http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Accuracy_dispute
As with everything on the internet, Wiki should be taken with a grain of salt. Some good reads on it:

i agree with katie. Wikipedia is made and corrected by everyone. so it could probably be trusted.
if you want MORE options, type "DEFINE:" (without the quotes) in Google, and then leave a space and type your word whose definition u want. this is called Google Definitions

Exactly. people can write whatever they want their since it's the free encyclopedia that can be edited by anyone. even our college professors don't like it when our information comes from wikipedia. why not consult the real encyclopedias (like britannica) who also have free online versions?

If anyone and everyone can edit it then you can guess that people will place their own views - not what is correct.
This will particularly be true for contentious subjects like religion.
Majorities will have more of their views in there - and people might believe it is true - because it seems true!
