It is strange that a cross is banned where someone wears it for religious reasons, and yet thousands of atheists walk around unchallenged wearing a cross.
I would also like to clarify that many airlines now have an Islamicised version of their uniforms for Muslim women, and some airlines also allow turbans, as do the police. The usual rule is that moderate religious belief is considered in airline statute, but not more extremist one.
But the main problem is politics. The last few years has seen a massive influx of Muslims who come here in search of a better life. Many are eligible to vote and so the government has to cater to their wishes. The government is also in the middle of several negociations with Arab/Muslim countries, mostly about terrorism and also oil. If the British Muslim population were being deliberatly disadvantaged in some way, then such ngociations would be made very difficult.
But this is a Christian country, and so Christians in this country must stand firm and not let bullying companies and the PC government stop this or make us forget this.

Why can't we wear items of Christianity in our country? Moslems wear their burkhas in OUR country. Seems every other religion walks all over us, but we can't be Christian in our own backyard!!! Human rights? Democracy? I thought we were a multi-cultural country, embracing ALL faiths! BA stands for Bloody Arrogant.

I am not practising christian, but I think everybody should be able to express their religion, wearing a cross,a Veil or a turban. Britain is a christian country and everybody coming here is aware of it. Accept it or leave it

I stopped flying BA when I first heard about the alleged dirty tricks campaign against John Gorman. Nothing here to make me change my mind.
Time for a concerted resistance to those who attack and oppress our culture and beliefs.

No one is saying you can't wear a cross in 'this country' they are saying that a uniform when working is, by definition, uniform for everyone. If you allow crusifixes then why not Moslem veils and Sikh turbans and Arab ragtops. When people apply for a job which has a untiform they know exactly what that is and they can't try to change the rules after they got the job.
