I am in a two year relationship. We have combined our bank accounts and have purchased everything together in the last two years. I feel like it's time to break it off, but how do I do it. How do we sort through what we bought together? Where do I go? What do I do? I feel trapped.

I know that this is going to be difficult but you need to just come out and say things are not working out. Worry about all the small stuff later. Who cares if you don't get that end table or the lamp that is on it. Would you rather be stuck in a relationship feeling like **** just because you were worried about dividing up furniture. Find a place of your own or see about living with a friend.

The best way is to do it the traditional way : Just say it why you think you want to break off with him, to avoid any unnecessary misunderstanding. Make it clear to him and as for the sorting part, if possible, sell everything you;ve bought and divide the money between you two.

If you are not happy then take your name off the account and take what is rightfully yours and go stay at a friends house or families until you get caught up. Just tell him the truth that you feel it is time to end things and you want to venture out on your own now.

Opps.....

Depends on why.......and what is being divided.

If you can, try and work it out through talking, if not see a lawyer.
You are going to need one if you own a home together anyway.

Start by opening your own accounts and treating yourself as single financially.

If I were in your position, I'd have given her everything. Starting from a scratch is not a problem if you're confident about yourself. If you're hardworking enough, you can buy these petty materialistic things again. Giving is what'll enlighten you. Let her have whatever she wants and more from your side.
