Hi i watched a tv programe about this some time ago and the reason is so simple and intresting.
it all depends on what you eat as if you eat things that a mosquito likes the smell of they are then more likely to try and bit you.
which why that if you have two people in the same house and only one gets bitten it means that that one has had something that they like.
I know that this sounds silly but think about it have you ever smelt someone that has taken garlic tablets and walked into there house the whole place smells of garlic.as the smell seeps out through the skin.
just because we can't smell it dosent meen that other animals can't.
as we all know that a sniffer dog can find people who are buried under loads or rubble and earth.

Everyone has a very individual smell, mostly based around their individual populations of skin bacteria (everybody has 'em, no matter how much you bathe, but the type and concentrations of...species are different for everyone), and the "Major Histamine Complex", which are proteins individual to each person's immune system and which you are born with. For some reason, and I don't think anyone knows why, mosquitos do react differently to these smells, and will follow some preferentially and ignore others

Because mosquito's rely alot on scent. Sometimes a persons cologne or deodorant may attract them, and in some cases just a persons natural odor.

Don't know! But I do know that Avon's Skin so Soft lotion is a great mosquito repellent. I guess they don't like the smell of it. It is great for babies and small children as it is merely a lotion. (you have to use the Original Scent in the white bottle with teal writing)

Not true. It is thought that mosquitos are initially attracted by body odour, especially at night. To prove it, leave your shoes, socks, or underwear lying around instead of putting them in the linen basket. You should find loads of them in the morning in your shoes especially.

I hear they like sweet blood, especially when you've drank alcohol or ate a banana. Maybe some people have more sugars in their blood. I know they sure like the taste of me!
