Experience is the worst teacher -- it gives the test before it teaches the lesson.

Common sense gives you a better chance of a good outcome in a new scenario. Experience may leave you gunshy or unduly emboldened. Common sense tells you that not all outcomes are identical.

Experience

Common sense - always.

Common sense gives a person the ability to deal fairly well with anything thing that comes up. Experience only helps a person with whatever he has experience in, and the person who lacks common sense but has experience may not have responded to, or learned from, the thing he has experience in properly anyway.

Experience is finite. Common sense is open-ended and all-purpose.

I would say experience because common sense isn't very common and varies in sensitivity. And where does one obtain common sense if not from experience?

It depends on the situation, you can not generalize. Both are together, for what you need experience if you do not have common sense.

i think it was aristotle that once said "common sense is common but not common to common people" and people always say that "experience teaches even fools" so i guess the road you take depends on you.
