I gave a child up for adoption 20 years ago. It was a closed adoption but I think open ones can be good too as long as everyone is ok with it. I was just afraid that I'd get too emotional and turn into a stalker or something. Now I wouldn't mind if he tried to contact me but I'm not going to intrude on his life.

I gave my baby daughter up for adoption 3 years ago. I got to pick the family and it was suppose to be an open adoption. For the 1st year I got pics after that they decided not to share pics with me anymore. I was so hurt. If you ask your adoptive family and if they know anything I am sure they will tell you. You are old enough. GOOD LUCK

Do you mean which option is better?
Obviously open- you'd have more access to information about yourself. Not only from where you came from, but who your ancestors were, and also health issues- genetic diseases, etc. that might run in your genetic family.

open. it would be horrible to think your whole life that your parents are your biological parents and then one day find out that they're not. Studies say it's healthier for the child, too.

i think it just doent make any sense if you actually know ur history or u dont
u are a individual entity in ur self . name and history matter of past now . i understand it irretates at times , but my suggestion would be that you should concentrate to develope your own personality and earn a name for yourself .
forget rest all they are just fake .........
all the best
