This is another reason why you should be required to take a psychological test before being allowed to have kids.

Some parent's are not very responsiable I beleive too. But there is a couple of ways to veiw this. The anger the parent's are showing the police has nothing to do with their kids. Its has to do with them. How do you think those kids became gang members? As children our values come from our parents. And no parent likes to be shown they are a bad parent. So they blame the police for giving them a wake up call. Now they have to take acation. They can get help for their child, or they can stay scared in how the system is going to be getting envolved in their lives. Today both partents work, and don't have a clue what is going on in their child's life. Or they themselves are breaking the law, and don't want to be caught.
We should be greateful for our police, and other parts of our system that is willing to help a child do better in life. Sometimes a child being in a gang is the only way they can show their anger, and is rewarded for it. It is a sign they are needing help. These gangs are full of children who have bad related expereinces at home. I don't fully understand why anyone would criticize our police for pertecting us, even if it's from our own children. aafrienddonnaj@yahoo.com

A mothers love is unconditional. I guess there are some "good little ones" that do fall into the incorrect crowd. there is lots which won't be able to be understood with regard to the indoors city because of the fact we don't stay there, that's an entire different international in a fashion, some i think of connect for defense or peer rigidity. As a mom in case you be attentive to you raised your toddler the marvelous way and he became good, if he later falls into problem you will nevertheless think of of him as an excellent toddler, because of the indisputable fact that's the toddler which you be attentive to.

I am looking at the Answers and bad grammar is rampant! Does it indicate bad parenting?....I have no idea. I do know that parents that know where their kids are do not have as many heart-breaks as those who have no idea.
I have seen some recent news stories that made me think....
16 yo shoots up school with sub-machine gun? Where did he get the gun?
14 yo killed at all-night-party. Why was she away from home at 7am after being out all night?
I agree....either know where your kids are and who they hang out with....or shut your mouth when they are before the Judge!
Society only effects a child if they are exposed to it more than they are exposed to their parents.

I disagree. Some parents are unqualified for the job. It is a difficult one, and the bigger problem is that in affluent neighborhoods, the police turn a blind eye to kids in trouble so they grow into adults who simply create worse trouble.

Parents have a inbuilt protectionist instinct for their kids and wont see things objectionally.
Also it would bring shame to the parents if their kid gets busted

O.K., my boy is a computer technician. Good parenting helps but some kids are just bad and can't be controlled.

Good question or point.
For those parents, I wish they could be jailed for the actions of their kids.
