As a photographer I would have to say the first and foremost is that you have a good photographer that knows how to use the lighting to compliment the subject. Next would be a great hair and make artist. Next would be a skilled retoucher to give the photo a polished look. And last but not least would be a photogenic person.

I guess it depends on what you mean, but I'd say, do whatever you normally do in real life. If I try to look casual or smile with my mouth closed or something it doesn't work out. Don't try to look up or down or smile bigger or whatever. Just do what's natural, and you'll look just like yourself.

don't make up too much, because you look good in pictures if the pictures themselves show "the you" in real life.

Being good looking helps, dark colors (no florals or stripes), light make-up, clean teeth (great smile), good pose (I look cross eyed during profile shots for some reason), little or no jewelry, simple hairstyle.

do no longer pose!! Catching a extra spontaneous 2d makes incredibly everyone look extra useful. :) Smile/snicker such as you may usually, look on the digital camera... fairly does make for plenty extra useful photographs.

practice in the mirror first then keep imagining all those around you in there underwear. then visualize yourself walking down a cat walk and you are just beautiful
