check on the mark in front of the drive. There should be a mark as DVD RW.It means it is a dvd read/write drive. Where If It is marked DVD ROM , it is dvd read only. (possibly a combo drive, capable of writing cds)

It would have some kind of dvd burner software. If you check your drive it would say if its a burner or not. Go to system properties then hardware and device manager then you know everthing you have.

pls see the front side or dvd on the front if written dvd R/W it means dvd writer if dvd R/Rw it means dvd read and cd read and write

? well just read the computer it has to say DVD WRITER, you might not have a software to burn but u can download any from downloads,com or so.
