I have PCOS. I have been diagnosed with it for six years now, and stinks. Everyone around me seems to be having babies like crazy, and it is very hard for me. I have cried more tears, and prayed more prayers than I ever have in my whole life. I have been to my OBGYN, but there is only so much she can so. I have taken Metformin (1700 mg/day) and Clomid and nothing works for me. She wants to send me to a specialist, but we don't have the money, and my job doesn't offer insurance.
However, my doctor told me I very well could conceive. She has seen women with worse cases than mine, and they had babies. I just don't have the money to get done what I need done. So, don't give up hope. If you have insurance or the money to go the distance, you should be fine. The days won't always be easy, but you learn to deal with the bad days.

Your regular doctor will probably refer you to an infertility specialist. I had to take metformin (it's a diabetic medication, but it also increases your chances of ovulation) and Clomid. Clomid works really well for most people I've known to take it. It will take time, and can get frustrating. Don't give up! There are also message boards you can go to, you can google search pcos and infertility and you'd be surprised how many other women are going through the same thing! It's encouraging to read about the success stories. Best of luck. See an infertility specialist as soon as you can to get put on the proper medication that will help you ovulate!

I had pcos a few years ago when I had a scan and the Gp said to me that it will go provided i loose weight. So I lost weight by doing about 6-7 miles walk once a week and detoxing my system with organic cider vinegar with mother 1 teaspoon to about 5 parts of water. The next time I had a scan last year, the cysts were gone.. got pregnant easy.

I don't have pcos, but you could check out verity - it 's the pcos website for uk. They have some resources that could be useful, like fertility information and they run conferences and other forums where you can meet and discuss things with other women with pcos.
Good luck.
