If you're just talking temperature without any way to insulate other than their fur, it depends on if the rabbit is used to living outside or not. Rabbits who have been indoors do not adjust as well to the colder temperatures, and thus will not fare as well once the temperatures get down to around the 35-40 degree mark. If on the other hand, you're talking about a rabbit who's lived outside all it's life, the rabbit would be fine until you get to probably about 20-30 degrees. My question to you would be why on earth would you want to be so irresponsible a pet owner to leave your poor, defenseless bunny outside without any protection against the elements? Rabbits need protection from outdoor predators, and they need protection from the elements too. Did you know that a rabbit that is housed permanently outside is likely to only live for up to 5 years, whereas a rabbit housed indoors can easily live to be 15 years old with the proper care and nutrition? That's a pretty big difference if you ask me, and I sincerely hope that you are not planning on leaving your poor pet outside without any way of protecting himself from predators and the cold winter weather that's quickly coming this way.

Domestic bunnies always need shelter ESPECIALLY if they are outside!!! Do not leave your bunny outside without shelter. Bunnies are fairly good at keeping themselves warm. They would be fine at 60 or 50 degrees. It's keeping them cool that you have to worry about. Bunnies shouldn't be exposed to temps above 80 degrees (esp. without shelter from the sun!) or else they will easily get heat stroke and die.

Please bring your bunny inside. You can litter box train him and then he will get used to the sound of your voice and footsteps and follow you around the house! People underestimate how much personality a rabbit has... you just have to let him show you!

If its domestic and without any shelter you've just killed it. Rabbits make great indoor pets with a little bunny proofing. If you can't give it shelter then give it to a rescue.

If they are left outside when it's warm and given the opportunity to build up their fat layer and fur thickness. They can live out side with no problems under freezing conditions just like a dog. But of course they prefer to have warm bedding and some shelter to get out of the wind and weather. Which if they get loose they seek out first thing. It also gives them a place to hide from predators.

They need shelter or they will have a little bunny panic attack and die because they have to place to hide. Not the most scientific way for me to put it but it is true.
