This is a really good question.
I think, stereotypically, or if people make a generalization they would say that CCs are not as "good" as a four year school.
I am not saying that is true, I just think that is what people generally think.
The reasons could be:
- They are cheaper then a four year school so their is less "exclusitvity".
- Since they are cheaper to attend they might not be able to pay their profs enough to bring in and retain the very best.
- Since they have smaller student populations they probably recieve less funding so in turn can put less towards their various programs.
Although I think a lot can be said for getting some courses completed at a CC, where the tuition is actually affordable and then going on to finish your degree at a four year school if you think it is important enough to have a "big name school" on your diploma.
As to people thinking you are stupid or not good enough... In my humble opinion if you have people that say something to that effect to you I would ignore them. Whether they went to a four year school, whoopee. If you do attend a CC at least you are doing something with your life so you can move ahead.

NO it does not make you stupid lots of smart ppl go to community college. At least you are going to college the stupid ones are the ppl who drop out of high school IN THE 12 grade!!! how dumb is that. I am going bc what i am majoring no other college has that particular major. I am going for interpreting for the deaf. When i get my degree i will make lots of money and i will be helping the deaf and hard of hearing children and possibly their families.

Community College is good starting point to get a education, and see if you are cut out for college. Plus community colleges are cheaper to attend, and better than universities with needing help in classesl. I say go for it

Not at all. Especially if you are going to a community college to save money on the first two years of tuition then transfer to a four-years. It actually shows that you are mature and smart with money.
